Who are the big guns this year for the top UAIs? Last year I had a general idea who to expect big things from, ie Laurie Field, but this year, it seems its very vague...anyone wanna place any bets?

Edit (glitterfairy): Hi everyone, just for fun I'm keeping track of the votes so far. Before I say anymore, here's something that I think should be remembered:

There are a few who definitely deserve very high UAIs, but probably won't achieve them, because of the damned flawed HSC. *shakes angry fist*

Just remember people, this is no measure of intelligence.
So this list is basically FOR FUN. Remember that both the HSC and UAI are more of a rite of passage - once it's over it's over, and you'll probably forget all about it within a few years. But for now - please make votes clear to make my recording process easier, and enjoy!

In the lead so far with 6 votes is a tie between ~Rench~, Dreamerish and Slide_Rule. 2nd with 4 votes each is a tie between c_james, KFunk and wholovesmaths, and tying for 3rd with 3 votes each are Airness and kami.

Total bets in alphabetical order: (if there are any typos, please be forgiving! I'm not very technologically literate and have cut and pasted from a Word Document)

Are we talking Bosers, or just anyone?

I reckon c_james will get one of the higher UAI's on bored... but it depends on what you define as "top" I guess.

Daniel Wong is a name that's been mentioned on this forum as a possibility.

Oh no, not me. Never. I might be too ashamed to post up my UAI.

I'd place my bets on ~Rench~, Kami, Smiley_Cam, and Mednez.

Maybe some of the less known boss members!

And I think all the members people have mentioned may be some of the highest BOS achievers, even u Dreamerish!

All the best ppl!!!

Hehe :p I wonder what it is I've said that's created that impression of me. If my sig is anything to go by though, that's purely an "out there" aim... :)

My bets: Slide Rule, captain_pi, just_chillin - there are a few others but I can't think of them right now :p

Hmm...well, he certainly makes out that he's good. And by the sounds of his confidence in both the MX1 and MX2 exams this year I would agree with him. But I guess we'll find out in a few days' time :)

Oh yea: Rafy is another...I've seen his Economics advice and I wonder if he came top in the state but just isn't saying anything... :)

I'll vote for aural_sax05, that is, if his confidence is anything to go by ;-). (Edit: and wholovesmaths, without a doubt)

I think i even look freaked out today, the guy at the video store was like.. err you ok? Then he wiped off my $48 worth of late fees. :), So it might of done something good for me.

gee, I used to work in a video shop in Newport... and they made me pay my late fees without any discounts, even though I bloody worked there. You're very lucky

Are your friends as anxious as you are???? at my school no one gives a shit!!

....Anyway I bet that I get between a Uai of 20 and 90... :D

I don't know ANYONE from my school (117 students) that is worrying about their HSC results / Uai Rank. Most people have no idea what they wanna do, and are gonna mooch off their parents for a few years...or take up a traineeship/apprenticeship

I am probably gonna be the only one on MSN at 6am on Friday morning trying to find out my HSC results... and When I do find out...I won't have anyone to complain to...!!!

I guess I could ring up and bitch about it to my boyfriend who would be asleep :D Damn not caring people...!!

good thing about having people at your school that don't care is that your subject ranks goes higher,,,therefore that does 'something' positive to your UAI

***thinks positive thoughts****
