Is it just me, or does anyone else find it really difficult to write 3 essays in 40 minuets each, like we have to do in the second paper? i think they shoudl give us atleast an extra half hour becasue its reallydifficult to go into sufficient detail and prove your arguments in such a short space of time..

does anyone else feel the same?

of course everyone would like more time, but u make do with what u have (40 minutes for one essay is not too unreasonable, althout remember that it is quality not quanitity they are looking for)

gawd, im sick of people complaining... the board wants a list of specific things from the student to be achieved concisely.. structure, vocab, knowledge ... 40 mins is definately enough...just learn to write faster and achieve the criteria, theres nothing more you can do in that time. You dont have time to think for yourself, just reguritate and give the markers what they want to hear.

yeh with getting longer for essays.. people tend to waffle on and totally miss the point.. but with shorter ones you can just cover main points.. write a few quotes and relate it all to each other/other texts.. everyone is in the same boat anyway so its not like anyone is less advantaged with 40 minutes

shit, i thought u meant 4-5 BOOKLETS in 40 minutes!!!!

uhh u gotta learn to write faster cos the spacing in the exam booklets are HUGE and u can only write a little bit in each. 4-5 pages is waaay too slow!

yes it is hard but they know you have 40 mins and so don't expect the detail they would expect if you had extra time, for e.g. for extension english

a funny situation:

one of my friends has terrible writing, so he writes double - spaced in his exams, so he writes like 11 pages in 40 minutes!

writing big in those exam booklets is fairly common.
and yes, people write 12 pages some times, but i think you should write whats 'appropriate' for your individual standards

it takes about 4-5 minutes to fill up one of those hsc booklet pages, honestly. the spacing between the lines is just so big that if ur writing without pausing, it should only take 5 minutes maximum to fill it up with average sized handwriting and in neat cursive...printing takes double the time!
