Parabolas!! (1 Viewer)

Hey
We are doing a math test on 4 topics, one of them is Fuctions and Graphs
But we didn't finish covering that topic, so apparently all there is in the test is Parabolas.
What does this include? Quadratic functions... what else? cubic function? Exponential function? Anything?

Please reply ASAP!

Im in general math and we are doing parabolas.

Parabolas are in the General Maths course in the AM4 topic.

If you're only covering parabolas (quadratics) you'll need to be able to sketch some quadratic graphs. There can also so be a little bit of algebra where you come up with a quadratic equation. Finally, try to look out for the maximum and minimum value of a parabola (or quadratic function), and what significance that has to a practical application. For example maximum possible area of a rectangle, maximum height reached by a ball when thrown etc.

One place you can look is http://hsc.csu.edu.au/maths and then follow the links to General Maths and then the AM4 topic. That might give some helpful suggestions.
