What u reckon... do the HSC over like 2 years.. and do only like half the subjects in a year.

i reckon u could get much better marks considerin especially around exam time when ur trying to cram 6 or more subjects into ur mind.

I suppose its good and bad... do an extra year... have less subjects.. hmm

It depends. Pathways is really designed for those who work part time or have a disability. Personally I couldnt stand another year of the hsc, its better to do it all in one hit if u can i think. But then again, its really a personal choice.

You can only accumilate HSC subjects over 5 years (not including the prelim year). Therefore, if you did 1 subject a year, over 5 years you would accumilate 10 units and they would all count toward your HSC (and UAI). But if you wanted to do it for a 6th year, the subject from the 1st HSC attempt would not be counted, only the subjects from the past 4 years, so if you wanted that first subject counted, you would have to do it again as well as doing the one you planned to take.

You could do the HSC for 10 or even 20 years (not that anyone would), but only 5 years of subjects would count.

I wouldn't recommend doing pathways just because you want to get a UAI of 99+ even though you aren't really having any problems coping with the HSC. I did it but not for the marks, I think that youd have to be masichistic (sp?) to want to do this... YEAR 12/THE HSC IS NOT FUN! And besides there are so many other ways of getting into what you want to without a sky high UAI. Most people who choose the option of pathways either physically or emotionally cannot complete the HSC in one year...if you are not one of these people save yourself the pain.

I think it really depend on the person; for some people they like to be really busy with stuff; and that's when they get their best results, but for others they may be a person who likes more time!

It's really up to the student! I think it's really good that people can have the option though! :uhhuh: :)
