Need help regarding a very odd issue, my friends desktop pc continously turns on, even when turned off..now ive checked the power options, and made sure its on shut down for all, and never in the turn off monitor settings, and also disabled the hibernation mode..yet the pc keeps turning itself back on..what is there to do? btw windows xp, 512mb ram, 40gb hd, fairly new

excorcisms normally removes poltergeist, but you may be in need of a jesus.

Check the motherboard and check if the boot up pins aren't connected. Also check the switch on the chasis.

Check the BIOS settings, like my one can turn itself on whenever a cable gets plugged in or connected and even a timer that schedules to turn on at a specified time.
