How do composer shape perspective?

This one really bother me...

A composer shapes perspective by the use of language techniques, etc. For example, in Sky High by Hannah Roberts (somewhere in the third paragraph i think) the composer uses simple words and simple sentence structures to imply that the perspective taken by the character is that of an innocent carefree child.

Correct me if i'm wrong there
