Petro Georgiou announced on Saturday he will not recontest his Victorian seat of Kooyong at the next election.

Very sad news, the bloke was one of the most conscience driven politicians in our country. I've long thought a progressive liberal beats a conservative labor because of the way they are moving the spectrum. He actually believed in the liberal party of old, the party of Menzies, Holt and Fraser, not the socially regressive parties of Peacock and Howard. I think the dry liberals have been trying to push him out for a while now and I suspect he might not have won the preselection at the next election anyway.
