How much harder is PHYS1901 than PHYS1001?

Should I only take PHYS1001, given that I've been given permission to do CHEM1903, and will be doing MATH1901/1902, GRMN1111, and (hopefully) overloading for the TSP showcase?

If you're in the TSP program and SSP chem, then no, do the advanced unit. It's not really a big deal as it was made out to be. I've done 30cp of advanced senior subjects; it's not going to kill you.

If you need more convincing, then I'll say that I agree with Templar. I had the same concern as you when I started uni wondering if the adv/ssp subjects will be so much harder and whether I'll handle it. It's really not a big deal.

I even somehow got myself accidentally into informatics (adv) instead of the normal course in semester 1 though I have absolutely no computer science/programming background at all. I ended up coming something like 5th in the year for IT amongst a bunch of software engineering and B IT students. As long as you actually bother to put in some effort and do the work then you'll be fine - especially if you have a bit of background in physics and having done MX2 is also a big advantage. Judging by your academic achievements in the HSC, I think you won't have an issue with it.
