What happens if you dont know youre pregnant and you are taking the pill?

Does the baby become a retarted malform? Would you miscarry?

if you're taking the pill properly, you shouldnt get pregnant by rights.
wikipedia said:
The combined Pill prevents pregnancy primarily by preventing ovulation. It also has the side-effect of thickening the mucous over the cervix, which can prevent or slow sperm entry into the uterus. The Pill also thins the endometrium (the lining of the uterus).

There are physicians who point to this thinning of the endometrium as evidence that The Pill is an abortofacient (causes abortions). This claim is based on experiences with in vitro fertilisation which demonstrated that thinner uterine linings correlated with increased difficulty in getting the test-tube-fertilized eggs to implant.
so methinks that even if you did stuff something up (eg. forgetting lots), and therefore fell pregnant, your body would stop it from getting any further when it started getting the chemicals again (probably a day or so after you started taking them on time, etc)

actualli it depends on how pregnant u are.. and how strong the pill u are on is..

ummm its not suppose implant if ure on the pill..

if lik alby said.. u forgot heaps and it implanted..
ud have a healthy baby actually.. the oestrogen and progesterone.. are actually pro-pregnancy steroid hormones...
(cos it tricks ure body into thinking u are pregnant and not releasing another ova.. so u dun menstruate..)

but when u take the placebo + pregnant... u wont menstruate.. and ud have morning sickness too .. n the other symptoms of pregnancy

they usually make sure you're not pregnant before you start taking it.

placebo + prenant = normal symptoms, i can understand. but wouldnt they still be visible when the girl's on the active pills too?

ummm yeah.. prolly but id assume the lack of menses during the placebo would be the most obvious

on the active.. it would be there too.. but usually nausea unless its a heap... doesnt really raise many alarm bells especially in the 1st 2 weeks
