Looking to do a BA in Politics/International Science.

Wanted to know any pros and cons of Usyd and Unsw in this area.

I know Unsw has a dedicated PolSci faculty, but it hasn't been as helpful as the Usyd site on the web, which has been much more helpful. I know Usyd has had a good share of primie ministers and gov generals and stuff, but I was just wondering if anyone has an idea which is better, or maybe some experience from either to help me decide.

Thanks alot

The difference that immediately comes to mind is that if you do a BA at Sydney and want to major in GOVT, you'll actually have to do two majors. The BA requires a major from within the Arts faculty, but for some reason GOVT is actually in the economics faculty, so it has to be a second major. This isn't really a disadvantage, since plenty of people do it and it's not hard to organise, but it's something you should be aware of. If anything, it's an advantage, because it forces you to concentrate in a second field, like history or sociology or something like that, which you can use to complement GOVT.

Sydney also has an optional GOVT internships program in which you do a research paper while working at a government department or an NGO, which counts for about half the major. No idea if UNSW offers one as well.
