because tertiary education 'expands your mind' to more post-formal thinking?

(dont all flame me for that!!!! its a generalisation of course, some people who get a degree are still stupid until the end).

and 52K is a shitload, which is why i have a feeling it will be popular (though remember, its casual full-time).
lol no worries, im just cut that i can't apply lol

yeah go for it. i'd love a job like that but i can't do that many hours of work during uni

haha i thought full time casual was contradictory as well, i think it means full time, so 40 hours per week, but only casual, so they can cut you out whenever they like and you don't get sick leave and the other perks of part time

I don't think I've ever heard a Casual position being promoted with an annual salary, even if it is full-time.

It's still an awesome job opportunity, I'd just be curious as to what the hourly wage is.

Most uni jobs start out as casual full time, if all goes well it turns into a perm role.... its the way most universities operate!!

Goodluck to all that apply!

At uni, seems you're given better positions if you have a degree, regardless of what it is (at least, with the admin roles.. I'd imagine as an academic it'd need to be in the areas you're focusing on [but I question that for sum academics..;)]). Apparently you're given more responsibility and autonomy -- the lady I'd talked to had reached the glass education-based ceiling and not been promoted multiple times despite vastly more experience and understanding of the positions, compared to degree-qualified new people.

...interesting, to say the least. (Could also have been some other fault she had, but it seems in line with the degree requirements for these positions)
