Hey every1. I know that this is quite a recent movie, but for anyone who has watched it, could you please describe some of the powerplay in the movie.
I know that the film's choc-a-bloc full of powerplay references, but i'm pretty bad at analysing stuff - it all just sieves thru my brain.

So, yeah. Descriptions of powerplay in the movie, please?

And, if this applies to you, maybe you could tell me how it links/contrasts to Antony and Cleopatra.

Thanks!

there is an abundance to talk about with this film - you said it yourself even :)

maybe start with the main ideas, such as characterisation - if you look at the emperor for instance, you can build easily upon that - such explicit links to powerplay

also, setting is key to the ideas of powerplay that the movie proposes - the context here is what reinforces issues of power

then perhaps look at the cinematography - i emphasise this because you need to account for the different cinematic techniques used here - afterall, that is the nature of your text - look for angles, lighting, movements, etc that frame the characters and the scenes

one last thing, music is very important and the silences of the film

have you been to the curse of the goldenflower website yet? if not, have a look at that, it has a lot of behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with the director, which may give you better insight into the message of powerplay as portrayed throughout the film

hope that helps to get you started,

goodluck
