Just a little advice needed: I'm pretty sure but not clear on the difference between principle in the 1st degree and 2nd degree, as well as accessory before and after the fact.....

Someone want to clarify and help un-puzzle my jungle of notes?

thanks guys xx ;)

ok well hopefully this is helpful but in my summary i have:

PRINCIPLE IN THE FIST DEGREE:
The perpetrator or principle offender in a crime.
If this perpetrator is found guilty they receive the harshest punishment.

PRINCIPLE IN THE SECOND DEGREE:
·Persons who help someone else commit a crime, an accessory or ‘accomplice’.
They can be an accessory before the crime or help plan the crime, during the crime or after the crime by trying to protect the offender.
Accessories may be liable to receive the same punishment as the offender.

ACCESSORY BEFORE THE FACT:
Being an accessory before the crime or helping plan the crime

ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT:
An accessory during the crime or after the crime by trying to protect the offender

Yeah, as well as accessory after the fact, also encompasses a person who has later knowledge of the crime that took place, it isnt neccessarily constricted to physically protecting the offender.
