I thought its the same but some txtbks answer questions differently. An old studyguide said they were different....

usually its like LHS = RHS kinda thing or to prove some geometry crap using proofs

An answer to a "prove" question would generally be much more 'rigorous' and tightly bound than an answer to a "show" question.

I think "prove" questions usually require the application of some kind of theorem or rule.

There's no real difference in practice.
