I'm unsure about the purpose of studying honours. Can someone please care to explain if honours has a direct impact on anything?

Straight to a PhD program, that's a plus.

It depends what you want to do. If you want to get into academia, honours is the first step. If you want something to give you an edge over Bachelor graduates, it can be useful. It's also good if you want to study a particular topic in depth, or go into a niche industry.

- person could not find a grad job and thus wants to extend their studies rather than face the imminent unemployment
