As far as i know, the sole purpose of quotes are to show evidence of a point.

However, i am aware that quotes are also to show your knowledge of the text.

I've read some sample essays, some students use quotes to impress markers by integrating them into their sentence but they dont prove any signifcant points.

Is better to just remember quotes for evidence rather than remembering some more to attempt to give a good impression on the marker??

Of course it would be excellent to remember quotes to prove and impress the marker but would it be better to not burden yourself with so many quotes to remember??

yeah i agree with you i think quotes are a useful tool to reinforce a point and provide evidence but if u overuse them and just spam quotes i think the marker will prob just get pissed off and think uve prepared an answer

Not if you've answered the question properly. Also, you will need to analyse each quote too, so spamming quotes will waste time and space.
