Not sure that this has been asked before but theres a dot point that says:

- describe nuclear transmutations due to natural radioactivity

Just to verify, do we have to state each radiation and what happens? i.e. alpha radiation, beta radiation and gamma radiation...or am I on a completely different path?

writing nuclear reaction equations to describe and to give an example of a transmution wont hurt, and prolly saves time and space, and its good to know one anyway. when u said "each radiation", you are prolly referring to the U-238 decay right? i doubt they'll ask a question that require u to memorise that whole process.

yep I got that:D...another q..do we need to know the equation that releases the positron and a neutrino?...Ive read in a couple of books but havent actually practised in class..
