question about access card & USU (1 Viewer)

do you have to be a member of the USU to join clubs and societies?
or can we just join?

Yes, you have to be a member (have an access card).

For most of them, atleast.

Yeah most of them need an access card. A few don't need one though. Last year the Red Cross and St John Ambulance didn't need one.

I am pretty sure the sailing club doesn't need one as well

I think the sailing club comes under the Sports Union- so if you want to join most sporting groups, you have to join the sports union (separate to USU). It was about $55 last year.

But generally you need an access card to join any clubs and society, except for the faculty ones.
