Hello. I am going to attend one of UWS courses from next month.
If there is someone who lives in Blacktown campus, I would like to know
what the life there is like. (Your own impression is fine.)
Is there TV and a PC room in each residence?
I couldn't find such facilities in Blacktown even though other campuses
seem to have as long as I check the website.
Any information related to the accomodation from you will be appreciated.:)

Thank you, natstar!
You gave me the exact information I wanted.
I really appreciate it!
Actually I will move into the residence (cottage) next week
and I was a little worrying about the new environment,
but from your comment I feel much better now and
I really hope I can enjoy the uni life with new friends:)

By the way, is there any shop nearby, where I can buy an Ethernet Card
for internet access? Do you know about how much it costs?

I am an international student from Japan.
I will attend Master of International Hospitality and Hotel Management course for one year.
It would be great if I can see you face to face. :)

I thought most of students living on campus had internet access in their own room, but it was good to know there is the computer lab very close to my residence. Then I don't have to hurry to get an Ethernet Card so much.
Well, is the computer lab usually very crowded...?

Anyway, I will try to walk around campus next week. One more thing, I would like to know whether walking around Blacktown and Quakers Hill alone is safe or not. Sorry if it sounds very stupid, but some people told me Blacktown is dangerous and also it is better not take a train at night. Is it true...?

Well welcome to Australia. I'm sure you will made feel welcome, as there are other Japanese people on campus. I hung out with 2 guys heaps from Japan last year, they are the funniest dudes ever.
My house mate Jo, is from Hong Kong and she does the same degree as you.

I wouldent reccomend walking around Blacktown at night. There is a shuttle bus that runs from the campus to the nearby shopping centre, as well as Blacktown between 6pm-9pm every weekday. They had it last year and the year before but im not sure if they will start it straight away as they need drivers.

In the day time Quakers Hill and Blacktown is fine to walk aorund by yourself. No problems at all.
At night its a little scary so I advise you walk with someone else just to be safe.
blacktown's good now the shops are enormous:) movies n bowling n restaurants n stuf are so much better now:)

yeh the bowling's good - way better than the old dodgy amf... heapsa nice new restaurarnts and stuff

way more shops.. some of em are kinda pointless lol but some are really good:)

hehe and my dentist is in the office tower part lol - so i can go shopping before i get jabbed n poked n prodded:p

its better now too coz you can prety much go straight from the train station into the shops.. its like, a 30m walk max and the bus terminals are meant to be pretty good now too
