Since what rank you come in subjects matter for the scaling of UAI within your skool

what if the year 12 is 500 students in ur skool but most skools yr 12 is less than 200, is this 500 students taken in consideration

for example 2unit english standard, lets say theres 261 students doing english, you coming 100th since theres alot of students doing english, compared to other skools is this considered

how about if you were placed on the bottom half of the subjects... but has much more people doing the subject in the course is that considered? i just need an right response

coz i see it unfair, since some skools has low marks and good rankings while other skools has similar marks but bad rankings

It's most probably considered as a percentage of where you are in accordance to the rest of your school. so 50/100 is the same as 100/200 etc.

everything comes down to the bos looking at your externals

just because a school has shit assessment marks doesnt mean the students are crap and vice versa.

the externals are the gauge in everything

i see it so unfair, oatley senior campus has over 500 students in the year because 3 skools combined

this places a disadvantage to both smart kids and average kids

that doesnt make it unfair

oatley isnt exatly doing brilliant because of their population

bleh, some subjects has ALOT of talented students

lets compare a normal skool eg. blakehurst and compare oatley campus

in oatley for legal if you get 76% you will be lucky to be ranked in top 10, where as in blakehurst you get that it will most likely make you get #1

see the difference, and another comparison around200 students in 2unit maths, you get 86% you be lucky to be in top 50 what a huge gap...

you can only compare differnt schools if they do the same assessments. Heres an example,We go to different schools, i get 25% as an internal school mark, you get 95%. What does this tell about you or me........NOTHING, it all comes down to how we perform in our externals

anyway......blakehurst.......theres a nice yumcha place there :)

How is it unfair?
the moderated assessment marks are based PURELY on the results of the HSC exam (ie, the assessment marks u get are dependant on how ur skool does in the external exams)
this means that school that have easy assessments and everyone gets 95% in them will be on a level playing field with a nazi school with impossible assessments where everyone gets 50%
