Just wondering, not my case.
If your school is like 150 ish ranked, and you are not 1st in anything, but top 5 and your marks are crap too (nothing in 90s)

and you do your externals and get 94+ in all your external exams.

what happens?
like, from what I hear, its ALL ABOUT your external exams. internals, both rank and marks, don't count towards anything.

Like, even if someone is 1st all year internally, but gets shit in externals. he or she is stuffed right?

I'm fairly sure that is wrong and that internal ranks do count when the moderation of the internal marks occur.

Internals are worth 50% - so they do count for something. Internal marks are calculated off a cohorts external marks. For example, lets say that the highest external mark from a cohort is 90 and the lowest is 60. This means that the cohorts internal marks will range from 60-90. First internally will recieve 90 as their final internal mark, and same for the person coming last. All others recieve a moderated mark based on their ranks and the relative gaps between the ranks.
