1) Depends what type of config you want, some places have good packages with good config...

2) Yes for ADSL it's possible if that user was on the 1.5 Megabit plan. Getting faster rate on Kazza? Optus should be 10 Megabites, that's about 1 Megabyte, if you're getting that form of speed, it depends who you're downloadings off... go to www.microsoft.com and download something and see how fast you download, if it's around 500 - 600 then that's perfectly normal.

3) There couldn't be much problem besides your PC possibly having Adware and Spyware, which can also slow down system resources, and also eat some bandwidth up.

I don't know about a PLACE to buy a computer but Dell seems to have good package deals. See also Apple although they're a lot pricier!

depends. if you're loaded and/or have a newbie, then go ahead and buy hp, dell etc, bcoz of good aftersales support.

if you're moderately good at comps, i would say buy all your parts separated and build it yourself.

there is no 'best place' per se, because buying a computer is like buying food - as long as your needs are met, it doesn't matter if it comes from the salvos. :)
