A red-and-white sign at my feet :
"Cabbages for Sale."

if i were to quote "cabbages for sale" would i have to use to double speech marks like this...

" "Cabbages for sale" "

write " 'cabbages for sale' "

or i guess you can use "cabbage for sale" if you don't care about the emphasis. Use the above if you want to highlight how the apostrophes for example emphasise the homeliness of stasis as opposed to the unpredictability of journeys?
