Radiography/Radiology (2 Viewers)

Hi all
Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these two courses? Also, what is it like to study these and become a professional?

Radiography is the one that do all the CT, x-ray & other scans I think. I heard that it is hard to study it. I am not entirely sure what Radiology is though.

ok, i wanted to do this in year 10, so ive learnt a fair bit.
radiographers (and radiography) are the people and the process of actually taking the scans, they operate the equipment
radiologists are doctors that specialise in the area. they review the scans and write reports for g.p's or referring doctors. to be a radiologist, you need to have done a full on medical degree.

they are to some extent...like, their not like your usual gp, but they are officially a doc (coz they have done thier medical degree)..like, if you have any xray envelopes, somewhere on it it will say which radiologists work for that practise, and it says like Dr. John Doe (or whatever)

i used to, but im more an Occupational Therapy girl now (or hopefully will be by 6 months or so time)

Yeah I want to do Radiography Kittykat, I've applied to do it through early entry at CSU Wagga.

nope, coz i dropped the subjects that i needed to do (physics and 2u maths)

Hey, you can apply for early entry? How? I mean whats it about? (Okay, not that I am going to apply as I am too far away but I am curious)

a radiologist would be very offended if u called them a radiographer.. radiologists are very highly qualified doctors.. very highly paid too..

lol, I think they would be too. I would definately like to be a radiologist but don't have the brains to be one. *sign*

So you would like to know about early entry? It means that hypothetically if I screwed up my HSC exams, I could still get into the course. It involves sending your trial exam results as well as a report from the principal (CSU's early enrty scheme is called PREP - Principals' Report Entry Progam). If the university believes that you could succeed in the course, they will allow you early entry. A letter is sent to you after your HSC saying whether you are succesful.

Well...yes and no...they do some of the same courses but radiation therapist does not do medical imaging. I gether they help kill cancer. wait...let me head back to the book (yes I know I should know this off by heart but I know they help people with cancer).
