call ur school up....and talk to your principal as soona s possible to get everything sorted outFlutterby said:hey the rankings my report said are different to the rankings on students online. For advanced english i came 6th, but it says that i came 7th? Is this a mistake? If so, what should i do??
Not necessarily. At my school, we were given both.playboy2njoy said:Report rankings are TRIAL results. The rankings on the website are ASSESSMENT results.
Well explain this (from my yr 12 yearly report)playboy2njoy said:Sorry, but you never get your final assessment results from your school. The Board does not allow schools to release final assessment marks as they are moderated and may give a false indication of a students position. You only receive your Trial results, and perhaps a mark from a single other assessment.
What they have told you is your raw assessment mark - the one they submitted to the BOS.Dumsum said:Most of my teachers told me my assessment mark anyway.
Yes, I know this. It's why I'm not running around screaming "I got 100 in physics and chemistry and maths extension 1!!"cem said:What they have told you is your raw assessment mark - the one they submitted to the BOS.
These are subject to scaling and adjustments AFTER the marking process has been completed and so would not be available yet.
Don't be surprised if the mark they gave you is somewhat different to the one that appears on your results from the BOS.
The various documents that I have seen from the BOS make it clear that teachers are NOT to give out the final assessment marks (but I know many do).
Final ranks are not supposed to be issued until all exams are completed but again many teachers give those out in the last week of school for Year 12 or even earlier.

Well in my report this is what i was given for english Adv:playboy2njoy said:Incorrect. Final assessment marks are not to be revealed. The board will not allow release of final school-based assessment.
from what i understand this isn't the case unless you also come first in the exam also (and even then your assessment mark will be moderated based upon your performance on the hsc). therefore it is basically impossible to avoid.playboy2njoy said:Actually a first place in a subject excludes you from the moderation process.
