G'day I was using LimeWire to download some programs, quite often some large files have the .rar format, instead of the .zip format.

Are .rar real files? Their filesizes are big enough to contain the actual program, if so, how do I open it after it is downloaded? Thanks

a rar file is an archive... similar to a zip file. use winrar.
