Just a quick question...
Isnt the first syllabus dot point about sources of ethics the same as the last dot point when choosing sacred stories and texts and beliefs.
I find myself repeating the info quite a lot.

Cheers.

you can repeat the same information if you want but if you want to be better than every other response towards this question, you will be required to go into other areas and do more research.

Sources of Ethics can be from sacred stories and texts, but what bout nature human instincts? also what about human experience? and parental teachings....things which are not found in books or writings

I think the first dot point is just the basic source eg. the new testament is a source. While the third dot point is more specific, eg. a sacred text from the new testament would be the sermon on mount and if you do beliefs you could talk about what beliefs can be extracted from the sources. So overall you will have some information overlap but i guess if the question in the HSC exam is related to the first and third dot point you could start off with the basic sources and then expand with specific beliefs/sacred texts/etc..

as AC said..the first part is broad whereas the last part is really specific

its to get you to think that there are many other influences on "us" (as opposed to the religion which is what the first point is about)
