hey guys,

i was wondering - is or did anyone do religious studies 2unit for yr 11?

i was told you can only take two 1unit courses, and since i'm taking ext. english, and ext. maths, i had to take religious studies 2 unit rather than 1 unit.

i'm kinda doubting it - can anyone fill me in on what the subject is like?

If you can write well, and like history, you well go well in this subject in year 11. I really enjoy SOR 2 unit.

This year we studied:

The Nature Of Religion- This is fairly bland

Christianity- If your at a catholic school, you know most of it already

Judaism-Very interesting religion and dispelled a lot of what I thought about Jews

Islam- Opened my eyes, and highlighted much of my prejudices

Religion in Australia-In the middle of it at the moment, seems alright because its easy to relate to.

We did the same, but instead of Islam, we did Buddhism!

The subject is really good, and rewards those who can write well.

Enjoying it a lot, currently i'm second in the class, my results have been consistant. My result for every assessment was 18/20.

For the Christianity topic, we had to write an essay about St. Paul within 40 minutes. Overall, I think it's a really good topic.
