Hey all,

Just curious as to what the annexure is. I believe it's where we, u know, outline our research process (search terms etc.)... is that correct? But where do we put it.

Do we write our response as though it's like an essay and then footnote to where we got the info (like the citation of the journal article, for example) and then where do we put like how we found it (Lexis Nexis or whateva)?

*Confused*

If any1 has been able to getta an explanation some help would be gr8.

The annexure is a vital part I have been told. Apparently WebCT holds a lot of the answers. Annexures are supposed to be a common legal skill.

im lost too and havent been able to find any info on it anywhere.. i've looked on legal sites, uni site, webct stuff, google, other people etc etc

so im plannin on asking someone at the library or at student support services just to be sure...

My Commentary thus far:


The case of Re Woolley does not appear on any databases, nor has there been any recent developments in this area of law (see Annexure for all search terms).

haha i so hope ur joking :p

info is real hard to find but after searching for ages ive found some really good stuff...just a matter of writing stuff down about it that actually answers the question...

Hey,

Just a question. Is any1 finding it hard to answer using primary sources :S.

Like most of my info in answering the question is from secondary..journal articles and so forth.

Perhaps I am lost :S

well i have so far 3 cases, 3 journal articles, 2 bills (failed), one current bill and a few newspaper articles

primary sources on it are hard to come by since its such a recent case and there hasnt been an opportunity for many cases to use it etc

I'm just not sure how to use 'em, primary sources, to answer the question:

Write a brief summary on the significance of Re Woolley and its effect on the Australian legal, political and constitutional system.

Coz my journal articles do all that sort of stuff, look at past cases etc. I dun wanna repeat what they say!! Do I just come up with my own comparison and stuff using these primary sources.

maybe look at the cases then the jouranl atricles

in otehr words, look at the cases themselves and say what the judges said etc that was an important impact of woolley then

use the journals to further comment on it

coz that way you're using the cases as the basis for your further investigation into the jounral articles

do u reckon it's foreseeable that we're going to have a few sentences of saying, "there have been no changes" or like "no advances" in regards to certain sources?? and do u reckon that's okay, so long as we show how we looked??

well wouldn't the government like the decision in woolley? it seems to comply with their policies. So why would they propose new legislation?

look...i'm not going to straight out tell you since if you haven't found it..no offense but im not h anding it over to you guys and in the process disadvantaging myself..

but think about it - the quetsion doesnt say legislation/bills that occurred after the case ended nor do governments always create legislation just because they don't agree with the court decision.

They may make a legislation in agreeance with the court deicision, but for the purposes of clarifying the law as the courts cannot overturn a statute unless it is unconstitutional etc...for all the govt knows, the high court may overturn the woolley decision in a future case so by making a legislation it prevents this.

i know you just want help...but youy really shouldn't be asking things like "has anything really changed" etc because...that's the question!

and by you asking other people for the answer to thaht, that's plagiarism.

Oh I wasn't meaning to,

It was compl. intended to be rhetorical.... hence the "coz it's like hmm...." meaning that's what I think to myself when I research the stuff!

Clearly an example of the effect of a lack of facial expressions and tone in writing.
