1. White settlement destroyed Aboriginal links with the Dreaming - the key beliefs regarding creation and existence. The main aspects of the Dreaming are kinships (groups, clans), obligations to the land and people, and ceremonial life (e.g. balance rites, initiation etc). Dispossession from the land resulted in the breaking down of the spiritual links with the land. Since the land is the medium through which the ancestoral spirit beings dwell, the loss of connection to the land physically/territorially destroyed essential spiritual bonds with land (e.g. connectedness/relationships with spirits). So basically Aboriginies could not carry out important daily rituals and maintain the land physically and in a spiritual sense. So the wholistic nature of the land was undercut, breaking down Aboriginal spiritual. It then must follow that kinship groups break down through the policies of protection and assimilation as well as the stolen generations. Children are particularly vital in maintaining the timeless cycle of mutual dependence with the land as they are the future generation. The stolen generations disconnected certain clans/tribes which has a detrimental impact upon kinship groups. Also, ceremonial life, due to loss of land and destruction of kinship groups ceremonial, is no longer a reality. Ritual estate (land they once belonged) is far away and usually members of the kinship are not able to return to it. Also, kinship members may not be in association with one another, breaking down ceremonial life even further. In terms of lifestyle/culture: loss of 'bush' lifestyle, demolition of cultural frameworking (e.g. ceremonies, relationships etc) and much more.

2. Post World War II: Increase in European migrants which lead to an influx of Christians mainly ---> establishment of Christian variants ongoing until this very day e.g. Hillsong Church.
Immigration in the 60's and 70's: Middle East, Asian migrants lead to increase in Buddhist and Islamic adherents. Etc etc. Figi and/or Vietnam --> Hinduism/Islam? not sure on this one.
Changing attitudes: drifting away from religion all together, switching to new denominations (within Christianity).
There's more, much more but that's a start.
Impact: multiculturalism <--- increase in religious diversity. Establishment of variants within Christianity. Denominational switching. Drifting. Etc.

If in doubt keep it as simple as possible.

E.g.

1. Traditional Aboriginal Spirituality often broke down with the establishment of white settlement. This is due to the essential aspects of the Dreaming - the heart of Aboriginal spirituality - being destroyed. The loss of the land broke strong bonds between kinship groups which had a highly detrimental impact upon their lifestyle, culture and ultimately, their religious life.

2. Since 1945 Australia's religious landscape has changed dramatically. Reasons such as immigration, changing attitudes and a shift in the generations has greatly impacted upon Australian society and spirituality.

Remember keep it simple.

IMPORTANT: check information above carefully, it's all out of my untrustworthy noggan.

Good luck. :)
