i just started writing poetry. and i know its not that common for a teenager my age to be try and get poems recognised. but like how do i start to actually earn aliving through it. cause i want to use my hobby to maybe give me somespending money. but i don't know where to start. does anyone have any ideas which don't cost too much?

i think he has, considering he's dead...

but anyway i think entering poetry comps n stuf is a going starting point to get u into the system b/c they're likely to publish winning entries... which will gain u exposure + just might land u a deal. :) [and some $$!!!]

if you write enough to fill a book, send it to a publisher or 10, cant hurt. you never know if they'll pick it up or not. or like olay said, enter some competitions, get a name for yourself.

i've entered about 3 competitions since i started. however, how many poems is best to fulfill a book?
