ripping cd's (1 Viewer)

ok...im a total noob when it comes to computers and stuff...so imagine everyones sheer delight when i got an mp3 player and started asking all these annoying q's :p so yeah neways i asked my friend if there was ne way to convert cd's to mp3 format so i can play them on my mp3 player...and he sed it was called "cd ripping?" or something (it was a while back) so yeah, can neone explain this to me and recommend ne good sites that do this sort of stuff?

Under Australian law, copying CDs, even for "personal fair use" is illegal. Because of this, theres big issues around iPods, since theres really no legal way to use an iPod in Australia other than listening to your own voice.

Please keep in mind.

Well, on my iPod, i know i like listening to my own notes :p
I think thats why they now have "audiobook" feature on the ipod - which is a silly promotion because an audiobook can still be an illegal mp3. :rolleyes:
