It is not so much techniques that you should be concerned, rather, because analysis of text and the employment of techniques to be analysed is subjective, all techniques can be used to represent a Inner Journey (or all journeys for that matter).

Therefore, to be interpreting The Road Not Taken as a Inner Journey, you should (in your response) suggest that the imagery, symbolism, typology etc.. are metaphoric, and represent the inner journey of the persona in such and such ways.

What the person said before was totally true except it probably means nothing to you.

In road not taken.

I'd talk about the sustained metaphor represented by "two roads diverged".

Rhyming Scheme

Syntax

Antithesis within the poem though that is arguable.

And qoute on the text and how the qoutes represent inner journey. Like "And that has made all the difference" represents looking back on his inner journey and discovering with road is best suited to himself. It's a very subject analysis but is still true.

You don't need to touch on all the techniques, when writing the Essay in Paper 1 just refer to ones most relevant to Inner Journeys.
