Hey, I need some help on assessing how scientific discoveries have led to technological developments, by relating knowledge about the kidney to the development of renal dialysis.

Any information would be appreciated, also any links :)

Assessing questions involve making a judgement.

You should explain how the kidney works, how the function of the kidney can be impaired (problems with ADH and aldosterone). To assess impact of scientific discoveries you should assess how renal dialysis is different (although there are different types) but there is no active reabsorption in renal dialysis opposed to it occurring in the nephrons in distal tubule/collecting ducts but both work on diffusion etc. I'd judge it that all the knowledge we know about the kidney was crucial to be able to develop dialysis, although it is a modified form of what goes on in the natural body processes.

This was my fav site in HSC bio for explaining how the kidney worked.
