How are you all goin, Just wondering what everyone uses for engineering reports or scientific journals and the like. I have a few ideas but just keen to know what software is around. I currently use word with mathtype plugin (equation editor deluxe). However this has no actual maths engine just notation ability. there are a lot of options however I would like to consolidate and have the least pieces of software possible. As I do C programming I would like the editor or packadge (can word do this) to have syntax highlighting etc.
Basically I would like to achieve the following with as few programms as possible.

report documentation
heavy notation documentation
spreadsheet modelling
cad with link to spreadsheet
maths engine
3d modelling
pdf export ability
c prog IDE
C++
java
HP48 calc software interface
pcb and schematic design
microcontroller development IDE PIC/AVR/16HC
general data organisation for UNI like onenote maybe

I know this is a large list but rather than continually ask a million questions I thought this may give a good idea of what I was looking for. I am a mechatronics student so I am interested in what others use.here are some packadges i am aware of

DEV C++
scientific workplace
solidworks
mathcad
imagineer
excel etc
latex

thanks for any assistance
