Is it possible? worth it? esp in 3 terms time?, jst considering stuff =/
Teachers help to cut through hard stuff quickly to save your time. Self learning is possible but you will be decoding text messages in the books in a pretty painful way. You may come up with less than efficient methods to solve problems making you the last one to finish a test and get a poor score. Relying on teachers too much also produce negative results. You don't really learn. You get formulas and push them. You may get good marks but then you lose out in the long run. What you need is a happy middle which is hard to get.

Self learning is good if you can form a little group of 3-4 kids and work together. provided you all have the basics, it will work. You can cover more areas together and point out the mistakes of one another. You also get more motivation to work that way. But it's not easy to find 3-4 buddies that are of same mind and determination to work through the books and support one another.

You may want to go for 2. Two buddies would be better than trying to do it with a girl friend or boy friend. Too much distraction in the later case.
