Ok I've had a quick read of
MathWorld and
Mathworld2 but I'm still pretty confused. Can anyone explain?
"any positive real number has two square roots, one positive and one negative."
so y = x^.5
x must be positive and y can be positive or negative.
y^2 = x
ah I get it lol, x is only positive to begin with so y = x^.5 it can't be y = - (x^.5)
I'm a newb sometimes.
