Anyone know a simple cartesian graphing program which I could freely download over the net?
Don't need 3D, it can just be 2D.

Never mind I've found a decent one called graphmatica.

Anyway I know this question may seem really stupid but I'll ask it anyway :/

y=x^.5
y^2=x
y=+ x^.5
- x^.5

This is probably like year 8 stuff or whatever but I am so confused. What's wrong it?

Ok I've had a quick read of MathWorld and Mathworld2 but I'm still pretty confused. Can anyone explain?
"any positive real number has two square roots, one positive and one negative."
so y = x^.5
x must be positive and y can be positive or negative.
y^2 = x
ah I get it lol, x is only positive to begin with so y = x^.5 it can't be y = - (x^.5)

I'm a newb sometimes.
