Hey all, i'm wondering if i could have a bit of help with part of my assignment - ive finished it except for one question (and a half 
) which i am finding really hard:
Identify and Discuss those social factors that may contribute to depression and suicide amongst young Australians today.
so, that includes : socio-economic status, employment, education, gender, ethnicity, aboriginality, geographical location, sexual orientation, peer influence, and pressures from society and from parents.
My problem is finding a "why" for the statistics.. WHY does socio-economic status have such a large effect on youth " People who live in these areas experience a higher prevalence of mental illness (12.3%) than those who live in other areas (8.1%). " << but why?
if someone could give me some help in answering the "why" question, and how to approach this id be really grateful.
The final part of the assignment is to Identify and discuss 5 strategies of the community and various government departments have put into place to address depression and suicide.
i have done this! i have four strategies: 1. Kids Help Line and Life Line (too similar to separate) 2. Reach out 3. National Action Plan for Depression 4. Beyond Blue and im not sure of a fifth because im tryingn to keep them as diverse as possibly .. any ideas??
