Got our prelims back(which were poorly written imo and were promised to be digital originally, I did alright tho) and now got confirmation that there will be no textbook or any resources coming until next year(Parramatta Education Centre who were working on the textbook confirmed in an email yr 11 textbook start of 2025 and yr12 textbook term 4 2025). Isn't this a great failure on NESA's side? They syllabus was released at the end of 2022 and with the whole year before the new course commenced they could not even produce a textbook of any kind. Makes me worried about how it will go with trials and HSC if no further resources will be given? Lots of people dropped the subject in my grade upon learning that there are no resources available(after year 11 with no textbook) with the class being less than 5 people now. Our teacher told us we will be going by VCE's textbook and trying to cover all the syllabus dot points but that's just terrible planning from everyone involved considering that there was a year gap to prepare. My hopes are that there will be practice exams and further resources produced by NESA but considering how year 11 went, I am not sure what to think. Should I drop?

I don't know if dropping is the right idea... it really depends on how the rest of your subjects are going
but yeah I really agree this whole year I've been checking Sam Davis' site (he literally got the enterprise computing one out before the prelims apparently???

Hi, i do the old syllabus for SDD, and id day keep it... my thoughts is that `because there are limited resources a. the exam will be relatively 'easy' or b. they will scale well ad go into consideration of your score. If you enjoy the subject why not keep it. I can share u my notes from the old syllabus and there will be stuff that you can still use that is related to the new course.

Yeah, apparently more people do that course across the state so they prioritised that over the software engineering textbook
