Hi,
I am refining my question for the isp (SOR 1). I am intersted in doing a biography of Bahulluah the founder of the Bahai religion. As you will have noticed Bahai is not one of the five world religions but my teacher thinks that since the syllubus says the biography must "draw" on one of the world religions we could show that Bahai is a religion that draws on the world religions. Do you think this could work and could you give me any tips on how to argue this?
Thankyou, Jessica

yes and no- only if you are talking about Bahulluah him/her self (sorry, I dont know that much about Bahai) and what s/he did in founding Bahai.
If you try to show that Bahai itself draws on the other traditions (does it do this? I thought it was a Hindu/Buddhist derivitive but Im probably wrong), then its not a biography. Does this make sense?

Also, you look like you are setting yourself up for a very descriptive style report as opposed to an evaluative/analytical style of report (which is what you need to do for the ISP)..

Just a thought.
Could you argue religion and non-religion (after discussion with the marker)
ie, is Bahai a "religion" as such- from the POV of the census and from the POV of its beliefs??
+
is it a "religion" or a "belief system" similar (bad word but the best I could think of) to humanism et al so you could argue either:
yes it is a religion therefore why isnt it in the "list" or
no it isnt therefore why isnt it classified as "non-religion" along with naturism, humanism etc (not atheism though)

(My ignorance here re Bahai as I dont know)
Hope this helps and isnt too confusing or confuses you!!!
