hello..
what r u guys doing for the two sources o ethics?
sacred texts and...?
whats a good choice?
Im doing beliefs but it seems to be a bit vague & ovelap with scared texts somehow...

and im doing marriage & divorce so if the source relates well to it, that'd be great too

the point of essay writing is to link up things together
having overlap is a good thing, depends on how much, just don't over do it
and remember that everything should be even!

which means you must talk about each tradition evenly, compare and contrast, making links or saying how different they are

the problem is I can't spend equal paragraphs on "sacred writings and texts" and "beliefs".
and... what are classified as "beliefs"?? Can every idea that the religion / followers believe be called "beliefs"??
for example, "Christian believe that men and women are created equal". The statement is certainly true, but is it a "belief"???
What are you doing besides "sacred writings and texts"??

need notes on authority (for ethics elective)

Does anyone have ready notes on "authority within religious structures" for Christianity and/or Judaism?
I think I'm lazy enough not to switch to it if I don't find good notes for it.
SOR1 is unlikely to count towards my UAI anyway ^_^
cant find any good ones in the Resources section... went through all of them except in the General section... and I really think those notes need to be given detailed descriptions so its easier to decide which to download...

u did the "sacred writings and stories" elective.
Im doing the "ethics" elective.
within the ethics elective, there's a section where u need to choose two sources that form the ethical system. they are:
1. sacred stories and texts (note: no "writings" word)
2. beliefs
3. individual and communal experiences
4. authority within religious structures
5. conscience and decision-making

ooooh i see
sorry, been a whole year since i've done this
you're talking about CR2

in that case for this dot point:
• compare and contrast how TWO religious traditions use TWO of the following
areas in forming their ethical teachings:

i took a big gamble and only did one of them :D
sacred stories and texts <--- the only one I did out of the five
and it worked out quite well :p

yes i did SOR2 so there was way too much i had to memorise, therefore i skimmed on many of the topics
which worked out really well at the end, i knew they wouldn't be asking students to do 2 different topics for most of the questions
