Speech for english (1 Viewer)

hey,

I've got this eng. speech where i hav 2 present a speech to my year 10 classwhere i try 2 persuade them 2 agree with my point of view on a topic of my choice. I am COMPLETELY lost and i need some ideas as it is due on teh first day back. It's only a 2 minute speech so it cant be a huge topic either.

It depends... does it have to do it a serious tone or if you can write it in a light-hearted humerous way...

In my personal it would be much easier to get the class to agree with you if you didnt write about such a heavy topic...

I cant think of any good topics off the top of my head but maybe brainstorm about what topics/issues are out there at the moment that you could put a funny twist on whilst giving your argument.
It may help if it's a topic that teens normally have a say in... You could even do something a long the lines of today's role models (Paris Hilton etc.) and whether they are good role models- with this topic you can incorporate humor and get the class to agree with you that way, you see what i mean.

And go with ideas that you have an interest or opinion on. You won't be as convincing and passionate if you're going to do a speech based on a concept that you have no interest whatsoever in.

the thing is my teachers wouldn't understand any of it. you see they are slightly reclusive. besides speaking of technology would be difficult as just recently a couple of guys in my class got in a heap of trouble for 'bullying' on youtube!
