i was wondering how the splitting up of units work. like if ur doing 11 units but u do really well in 1 unit subject... how do they 'cut up' one of ur 2 unit subjects?

i mean, they do that, don't they? :S

i think they just take half the mark because a 2U paper is out of 100 and you only needed 1U worth of it, ure mark will be made out of 50 i think

yeah see i thought it would be outa 50 as well... but then when ur mark is outa 50, it's pretty much the same as being outa 100.

e.g. 30/50 = 60/100

same thing, isn't it? :S

each subject is taken down to a mark per unit basis and then they work it out from there ...

because if each unit is counted individually, then when you have a spare unit and you do badly in a two unit subject, you need only cound one of the terrible two rather than both, and you get to keep your better 1U mark wherever it came from.

For 3 unit English this year my courses were totally seperate. What I got in ext didnt affect my 2 unit at all, and i had a different teacher also.

Same with my friend doing 3 unit maths, his courses were completely different

my friend in year 12 doing 3 unit maths though just did the 3 unit course, so im not sure how that works
