Hi,

Does it matter what order your introduce your texts in your essay?

i.e. What I've been doing is:
1. AOS booklet text
2. Prescribed text 1
3. Related material
4. Prescribde text 2
5. Related material 2

1) Should I be doing the AOS booklet text and prescribed texts FIRST, then doing the related material after them, so I can link the related back to the aos/prescribed texts?
2) In regard to linking texts, is it just linking your related material back to your prescribed text/AOS booklet; or can u link your prescribed text to your related material? (I suppose it depends on q1; the structure)

I'm just interested in how other schools were recommended/taught this.
Thanks

it doesn't really matter what order you put the texts in as long as it's coherent.

Your way is text focused, and groups the related texts with the prescribed, so that's helping to group the main ideas together.

It's best to relate the supplementary texts to the prescribed as the focus is placed on the prescribed. :D

Another way is concept/ideas based, where each paragraph has one main idea. Then the evidence can be drawn from all different sources.
