was just thinking:

its common to head straight to books for written supplementary texts, i guess because quantity gives the feel of quality.

but i'm thinking of using an article...
and was just wondering....is there anyone who has done the hsc, who didn't use a novel of any sort (either as core or supp texts) ...
perhaps used an article/cartoon/film trailer/short story etc

& got either an overall 88 or above mark in the hsc

or more specifically with AoS did extremely well in their essay writing using that text [internally] ?

how important is it for your text to be "heavy" in terms of substance/quantity..?

For my AOS, which was imaginative journeys, I used the poems of Coleridge, the cover of The Ivory Trail and a picture book. I ended up going pretty well in the AOS. My overall Eng Adv mark was 83, brought down mainly by Module C.

I don't think that you'll be disadvantaged by a non-conventional choice of medium for your related texts, provided that they have enough material to allow you to talk about them in the required depth.
