This is basically a survey about where young people can get information before starting work. Please help by doing it!

Exhibit A:
1. What is your job?
2. Are you employed full time, part time, casual or self-employed?
3. How long have you had this job?
4. How long have you worked in this industry/field?
5. About how many jobs have you had so far?

Exhibit B:
1. Are you paid according to an award, enterprise agreement, AWA or self-employed?
2. Do you get paid annual leave?
3. Do you get paid sick leave?
4. Are you paid penalty rates (higher pay for working at unusual times)?

Exhibit C:

2. Do you get paid for extra hours?

3. How long have you had this job? a little over a year
4. How long have you worked in this industry/field? as above ^
5. About how many jobs have you had so far? 2 (including the one that i have now)

Exhibit B:
1. Are you paid according to an award, enterprise agreement, AWA or self-employed? enterprise agreement
2. Do you get paid annual leave? yes because i am on a contract
3. Do you get paid sick leave? as above ^
4. Are you paid penalty rates (higher pay for working at unusual times)? only if i work past midnight. which doesnt happen

Exhibit C:
1. How many hours do you work in a typical week? 20 contracted hrs a week
2. Do you get paid for extra hours? yeah
Do you get paid breaks such as rest breaks or morning tea? yeahs

Exhibit D:
1.Is health and safety important at work? yeah
2. What things do you do to stay safe? ensure that boxes are lifted correctly, floor and work space is clean etc etc

Exhibit E:
1. Are you a union member? yeah
2. Which union? sda
3. What are the benefits of being a union member? the sda hands out booklets of vouchers for being apart of the union every year, for discounts and such. able to know that a problem if be fixed if a problem does arrise in the work place

Exhibit F:
1.What year level did you finish at school? still at school
2. What type of training did you do after leaving school? (uni, apprenticeships, etc.) n/a
3. Are you training or studying now? yes
4. If yes, what are you doing? yr 11. soon to be yr 12

Exhibit G:
1. What are the most important things to know about a job before starting work? who to contact if a problem arrises, the occupational health and safety stuff,
2. Where do you get that information? management and union representatives

Customer Service Rep for a Records Management company

Casual

This is my second job

Exhibit B:

I'm on an EBA
2. Do you get paid annual leave?
No
3. Do you get paid sick leave?
No
4. Are you paid penalty rates (higher pay for working at unusual times)?
I do, but because I'm casual and the hours I work doesn't entitle me to this

Anywhere from 15-20 hours
2. Do you get paid for extra hours?
If I work more, yes
Do you get paid breaks such as rest breaks or morning tea?
Yes, when I work more than a 5 hour shift

Yes
2. What things do you do to stay safe?
We have to do training on lifting etc. because our work often involves a lot of lifting and carrying heavy boxes

No, but I was when I worked at Kmart

SDA
3. What are the benefits of being a union member?
Offers for movie tickets, entry to certian venues etc. When I was in the SDA I also won textbook scholarships which paid for books for school

Yes

Studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary) at ACU

Rate of pay, hours, entitlements, any relevant training
2. Where do you get that information?
Either from the actual workplace or through organisations (maybe employment agencies, for example)

2. Are you employed full time, part time, casual or self-employed? Casual, soon to be permanent part time.
3. How long have you had this job? 13 months.
4. How long have you worked in this industry/field? 13 months.
5. About how many jobs have you had so far? Just the one.

Exhibit B:
1. Are you paid according to an award, enterprise agreement, AWA or self-employed? Nope.
2. Do you get paid annual leave? Nope.
3. Do you get paid sick leave? Nope.
4. Are you paid penalty rates (higher pay for working at unusual times)? Nope, damn you, Coles Myer....

2. Do you get paid for extra hours? Nope.
Do you get paid breaks such as rest breaks or morning tea? 15 minutes for every 4 hours.

Exhibit D:
1.Is health and safety important at work? Yes.
2. What things do you do to stay safe? Regular safety drills, available training (First Aid, etc).

Exhibit E:
1. Are you a union member? Yes.
2. Which union? SDA.
3. What are the benefits of being a union member? They get $3.10 from every paycheck, lol.... covered for all occassions, get a booklet of coupons valid up and down the coast, etc.

1.What year level did you finish at school? I'm in Yr 12.
2. What type of training did you do after leaving school? (uni, apprenticeships, etc.) I plan to go to uni.
3. Are you training or studying now? Yes.
4. If yes, what are you doing? HSC, bleh.

Exhibit G:
1. What are the most important things to know about a job before starting work? Your rights (lol), responsibilities, safety measures, etc.
2. Where do you get that information? Training days, group interviews, Year Advisor, etc.
