I am in Year 10 this year and recently, I have received acceptance offers from both Syd Tech and Hurlstone.

STHS vs HAHS

Pros for STHS:
- 100% Freedom of Subject Choices

Pros for HAHS:
- I know a few people there

Cons for STHS:
- Lower ranked than HAHS
- All Boys

Cons for HAHS:
- Must do Agriculture for HSC so Year 11 and 12 (I don't like Agriculture content wise and its scaling)

It takes me around the same amount of time to get to both schools, transport wise.

Discuss. Opinions? Which school would you go to?
I also need opinions from Hurlstoners and Syd Techies!
Take 12 units if you dont like agriculture and let it be the 2 units that dont count, just a suggestion

Thanks for the suggestion. Though, I'd like to have a back-up plan/subject which I would like to do.
But thanks for the suggestion!

I need more suggestions and opinions!

mmm yeah i understand what you mean, originally i picked 12 units thinking PDHPE would be the two units that wouldnt count and it was pretty much just a back up, but i ended up bombing physics so now PDHPE has to count.

Why do you wanna change schools so badly? You wouldn't face either predicament staying in the same school. But that's a completely different matter.

If i was you i'd just go tech. Don't get me wrong Hurlstone is an awesome school, but being forced to do a subject you don't like isn't worth it.

oh i see
but you still have 10 units to count towards ur hsc
Having that extra 2 is like my back-up plan and I'd rather have Business Studies (I do very good in Commerce and believe I'll do strong in Busi Studies) rather than Ag but it's still up for discussion. I am not replacing Economics or Physics with Business Studies so yeah.

EDIT: I still appreciate your thoughts and everyone else's thoughts! THANKS GUYS and keep it coming with the opinions!

Syd tech brah checking in.

I like tech, full of sick kunts and nice guys, no bullies. Everyone gets along. Well in my year, and I haven't heard reports of bullying in years below. Kids who come through in year 10 and 11 also mix in nicely with the rest of the year.
