Does anyone have any idea what acetylene has to do with synthetic rubber? I think it's just used in the processes of making it.. but can't find info that's clear.

i just had a look through my notes on synthetic rubber... couldn't even find mention of acetylene :s hmmm, interesting.... lol

Another name for acetyne is ethyne, synthetic rubber is made from isoprene monomers or another one is SBR (styrene butadiene) if that has any acetyne monomers in it
