Who here has it? Its an excellent game, 80hours of gameplay. it has the brilliance of a Final Fantasy game, yet a very unique appearance. I hadn't heard anything about it until it came out..no hype, nothing, yet when i saw Hyper give it 93% i was interested and bought it and i love it. It probably stands close to Zelda as being my favourite GCN game.

I loved Tales of Phantasia. One of the best games i have ever played. Its a shame neither the SNES or PSX version was localised. I haven't had a chance to play TOS, as I don't own a gamecube... yet.

BTW Does anyone have any thoughts on Tales of Destiny 1 and 2? I'm considering playing them after I finish Homeworld 2.

Am I thinking of a totally different GCN game or is that the one that has online capabilities?

Final Fantasy 11 has online? And that Phantasia thing that originally came out on dreamcast does too. Not Tales of Symphonia though.

Theres no infrastructure (the warp pipe hasnt been implemented anywhere) but this game dialed directly to the game servers rather than Nintendo so it doesnt need it.

I haven't played Tales Of Destiny... but I have played Tales Of Destiny 2 (known as Tales Of Eternia in Japanese), there is also another ToD2 on the PS2, but that was a real silent release. ToE is a very good game, a basic story, but the game is very good.

Tales Of Symphonia is on PS2 as well, I have it in Japanese, don't know about a US translation. ToS is different to the other Tale games because its 3D Cell graphics as opposed to 2D graphics... the new Tales game, Tales Of Rebirth (which I also own) goes back to the 2D graphics of ToE.

I'm looking forward to Dragon Warrior VIII translation to the US more then ToS.

lol. you know, it never occurred to me that these of 'tale' games that you speak of (which i had never heard of before), may actually be related to ToS. I thought ToS was a stand-alone thing. So are the other Tale games to ToS like Final Fantasy is to the final fantasy series? that is, same design but different characters? Or are the characters in the Tale games the same as ToS?

I'm interested in these other Tale games now. Are they as good as ToS? and if so where can i get them? (English version)

From what I understand, Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Symphonia are set in the same world, only in different time periods. I obviously don't know about Tales of Destiny and Tales of Eternia, though.

Since TOP was never localised, DeJap (a fan based game translation group) made a neato and very proffesional english patch for the SNES rom. You can grab the patch at www.dejap.com , which you use on the rom you dumped from your own legally owned ToP cart.
