am a bit confused about "techniques"
- are changes in the structure/style of writing "techniques"?
eg, say a book starts off very anecdotal, but as it progresses becomes more and more reflective.....is that a technique?
- whats the 'proper' name given the the listing device?
like: the accumulation of joy from the beautiful sunny day, the ice cream, the birds, and the breeze.
what exactly comes under techniques? are we just meant to look at "language" techniques?
& that too are language techniques meant to be in the context of a specific quote/paragraph/section of the text?
or are in the context of the text as a whole, and the overall language techniques it adopts
eg, the book "xyz" makes a noteable use of metaphors throughout the novel. this shows "blah blah" and an eg of this can be see when....[specific quote goes here]
apart from language techniques, what else is classified as a "technique" ?
